Facebook — The Journalism Project
The Facebook Journalism Project (FJP) is a core initiative of Facebook that aims to provide a channel for collaboration with publishers around the world through trainings, programs and partnerships, to connect people with and elevate meaningful journalism.
FJP engaged Code and Theory to design an elegant and scalable platform (that launched in 2019) that could grow as the FJP initiative evolves in the future.
Previously, FJP’s digital presence did not reflect the central role it plays and impact it has on news and publishing within the Facebook ecosystem. Resources and information about the initiative were scattered and buried within Facebook’s corporate digital properties.
Our team created features and information architecture paradigms that support goal-specific journeys across the website, so that small and big publishers alike can find the right tool, at the right time. It’s all about progressively introducing them to Facebook’s News Products and Solutions, putting forward what’s in it for them and showing how those can optimize and enhance current workflows, as well as enable new ways to tell stories.
My role: research, ideation & concept development, product strategy, UX design.
Engagement lead: B. Berentson, 2018.
